Shallow Thoughts Inshore Fishing Charters has been Charleston, South Carolina’s friendliest and most requested inshore fishing charter service since 2005, sole owned and operated by Captain Jeremy Espiritu, a full-time guide with over 30 years of local fishing knowledge and 20 years of chartering experience in Charleston. Departing from Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, Captain Jeremy specializes in light tackle and fly fishing for red drum, sea trout, flounder, sheepshead, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, and huge sharks.
Trips run aboard a 24-foot Blazer Bay boat powered by a 300 HP Mercury ProXS, equipped with a full T-top, Garmin electronics with down/side scan imaging, and a Minn Kota I-Pilot trolling motor, comfortably fitting up to 6 passengers. For sight-fishing tailing redfish in shallow marsh grass, Captain Jeremy also runs a 17-foot Action Craft Carbon Kevlar flats boat. Every trip includes fishing licenses, rods, reels, tackle, bait, and ice.
Half-day (4-hour) charters run $550 for 1-2 anglers up to $700 for 5, while 3/4-day (6-hour) charters run $750 for 1-2 anglers up to $900 for 5; full-day charters are available upon request. Specialty trips include a 3-hour Kids Fishing Trip ($450 for 4 people, targeting easy-biting species), a Family 5 trip ($650 for 5 hours, combining fishing with beach combing on Morris Island near Fort Sumter), a 3-Hour Shark Fishing Charter ($450 for 4 people, targeting Bonnethead and Atlantic Sharpnose sharks), a Sunset Booze Cruise ($450, up to 6 people, departing from Waters Edge Restaurant), and a Strictly Shark Fishing trip targeting 100+ lb sharks at standard inshore rates.
