Marsh View Fishing Charters (also branded Charleston Fishing Experience) is a trusted local charter company offering inshore, nearshore, and offshore fishing along South Carolina’s Lowcountry coast, owned and operated by Captain Tim Mullins, a College of Charleston graduate and native of the Mount Pleasant area with more than 25 years fishing these waters. The business runs two boats: a 32-foot Contender for deep sea trips, ranging from 10 to 80 miles offshore with twin engines and modern electronics for a fast ride to the fishing grounds, and a 23-foot Pathfinder bay boat rigged specifically for inshore work, both comfortably fishing up to 6 anglers with a large T-top and open bow. Inshore/nearshore trips target trophy redfish, speckled trout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, tarpon, and shark in Charleston Harbor, Folly Beach, and the surrounding estuaries, while offshore trips chase King Mackerel, Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Sea Bass, Grouper, and Snapper, with the best window for Mahi and tuna typically late April through early June.
Trip options include a 4-hour inshore trip, 6-hour and 8-hour offshore trips (running 15-35 miles out), and a 10-12 hour full-day trip for Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, and Blackfin Tuna. Trips depart from Reds Ice House at Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, typically at 7am (6am for Gulf Stream trips, or 7am/11am for 4-hour inshore trips). Every trip includes quality rods, tackle, bait, and fish cleaning, with the boat cleaning and packing the catch on ice at the end of the day.
