San Francisco Fishing Charters is San Francisco Bay’s premier sport fishing charter boat, led by brothers Brian and Jose, docked at Fisherman’s Wharf. The business runs a new 56-foot vessel, built by Westport Shipyards in 1980 and completely refitted in 2022, annually inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard and certified to carry up to 49 passengers (non-fishing trips only). The boat features a spacious deck, a clean heated cabin with restroom, a cruising speed of 16 knots, and the latest navigation and fish-finding electronics, with custom-built Calstar rods paired with Avet reels.

Fishing charters carry a maximum of 14 passengers, guaranteeing elbow room and personal crew attention for anglers of all skill levels. San Francisco’s waters offer excellent charter fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Striped Bass, Shark, Sturgeon, Lingcod, and Rockfish. Half-Day trips (6am-11:30am) run $200 per person or $2,800 for a private charter (up to 14 passengers); full-day trips run 10-12 hours with departure times adjusted around the tides.

Guest testimonials are extraordinarily glowing, with reviewers consistently praising Brian and Jose by name for genuine warmth, patience, and expertise — setting up rods, explaining salmon and striped bass patterns, and helping first-timers land full boat limits. One family from Texas described their 11-year-old landing a large slot sturgeon alongside eight striped bass, calling it the best guided fishing trip they’d experienced anywhere on the coast. The business has earned more 5-star Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews than any other San Francisco fishing charter.

For anglers of any experience level near San Francisco, California looking for a highly reviewed, genuinely personal salmon, halibut, striped bass, or sturgeon fishing charter, San Francisco Fishing Charters offers an outstanding operation with brothers Brian and Jose.
