LeGrande Slam Sportfishing Charters offers inshore and offshore fishing charters out of Lynnhaven Inlet, Virginia Beach, led by brothers Captain Daniel and Captain Keith LeGrande, who have worked in the charter business together for more than 15 years. The brothers focus on making every trip fun and successful, fishing hard to give guests a top-of-the-line experience on the water.
The area is home to one of the most diverse fisheries in the U.S., with inshore waters producing Cobia, Striped Bass, Spadefish, Red Drum, Black Drum, Flounder, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Barracuda, Sharks, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Tautog, Sea Bass, Spot, Croaker, Speckled Trout, and Gray Trout, with the massive man-made reef of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel right at their doorstep. The captains let guests know what’s biting and design each trip around the client’s specific goals.
Family Fishing Trips are a specialty, with relaxed near shore days trolling for Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel along tide rips and diving birds, or a gentler cruise through the creeks of Lynnhaven Inlet for kids not quite ready for the open Chesapeake Bay, bottom fishing for Spot, Croaker, Flounder, juvenile Red Drum, and Trout (with the option to set out crab lines too). Every trip includes permits, licenses, rods, bait, and tackle, and the crew will clean the catch as well.
The business runs two boats: a 27-foot Center Console (up to 4 people) and a 33-foot Bertram (up to 6 people). Half-day inshore trips run $650 on the 27′ or $700 on the 33′, full-day inshore runs $1,000 on the 27′ or $1,300 on the 33′, and a 12-hour offshore trip (up to 70 miles) on the 33′ runs $2,800. Rates don’t include the mate’s tip (20% customary).
