The Touring Kayak Club, Inc. was founded in 1927 by a group of people who loved the fun of being on the water and the sport of kayaking. Members purchased the club building in 1946, located on City Island on the beautiful Long Island Sound with access to all the waters around New York.

TKC offers two boathouses for kayak storage, lockers, showers, a kitchen, beach access, and a large deck and club room for its members. The club hosts an annual Boot Hill Cup Race, a roughly 4-mile paddle around Hart Island and four buoys, followed by a barbecue, along with other seasonal club paddles and social events throughout the year.
