The surrounding area offers easy access to trails in both the Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park, with nearby trailheads including Mount Ellinor, rated five stars by many visitors, along with Big Creek, Mount Rose, Dry Creek, Copper Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, Staircase Rapids, Big Log Camp, and Flapjack Lakes. Downtown Hoodsport, settled in the late 1800s, sits nearby along Hood Canal with waterfront views, shops, and dining, and Lucky Dog Casino is less than 25 minutes away for those looking for additional entertainment.
Boat launch access runs $25 per launch (including day-use and launch fee), with general day-use pricing at $20 per vehicle on weekdays and $25 on weekends and holidays.
