Louisiana Livin Adventures offers world-class inshore coastal fishing charters out of Cocodrie, Louisiana, led by Captain Tim Ortego, a Houma-area native and United States Marine Corps combat veteran who has fished the waters of Cocodrie and Dularge his entire life. Trips run aboard a new 26-foot Blackjack 256 bay boat with a T-top, fishing the famous destinations of Last Island, Timbalier Island, and Terrebonne Bay out of Cocodrie, targeting Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead in inland marshes, coastal bays, and Gulf of Mexico oil rigs and barrier island chains. Seasonal specialty trips include an Inland Marsh Day Trip (September-April) for Redfish and Speckled Trout using sight casting on a Gatortail 18×60 flats boat, and an Inland Freshwater Marsh Day Trip (November-April) for Bass and Crappie.
Standard inshore charters (full day, 6-8 hours) run $850 for 1-2 anglers, $900 for 3, $950 for 4, $1,150 for 5, or $1,500 for 6 (Bull Reds only), all plus fish cleaning; live bait is included for groups of 1-4 but costs $100-150/day for groups of 5+. Inland marsh trips run $650-900 depending on group size; freshwater bass/crappie trips run $700-900. Fuel, ice, rods and reels, and life jackets in adult and youth sizes are always included, with fully all-inclusive lodging-plus-food packages also available (BYOB, non-alcoholic drinks included) starting at $500/person, 3-person minimum.
Deposits run 50% of the trip cost, non-refundable but transferable with 10 days’ notice; cancellations within 9 days forfeit the deposit. Captain Tim works with 10 other guides to accommodate large groups. Lodging is available through Coco Marina in condos and camps, which also features an on-site restaurant and bar (home to the famous “Bushwhacker” drink), plus a pool and water park for the whole family.
