LaPrade’s Marina is a historic, 92-year fixture of Lake Burton, nestled in the peaceful west end of Wildcat Creek Cove in Rabun County, Georgia, just under 2 hours northeast of Atlanta. Lake Burton is the largest lake in the area, spanning 2,775 acres with 62 miles of shoreline, and ranks among the top ten most pristine lakes in the United States, remaining clear, clean, and cool throughout the boating season.

LaPrade’s began as a home for the men who built the dam that created the lake, later becoming an excellent fishing retreat with an open dining room where everyone sat elbow to elbow passing heaping bowls and platters. Today, with its Adirondack round log timber frame style, LaPrade’s remains a key part of the Lake Burton experience, now under new management that respects its history while focusing on quality and detail.

Amenities include 32 slips reserved for visitors, one of only two fuel docks on the lake, covered and uncovered floating docks with hoists, covered and open dry storage, a boat ramp for visitors, and a marine store stocked with t-shirts and snacks. On-site dining includes The Chophouse and Hawg Wild BBQ, both popular hangouts for visitors and locals alike, and The Boat Shop provides complete marine service on premise. Families come to swim, boat, and fish, with relaxing cocktail cruises available in Sunset Cove off the western shore of Burton Island; nearby attractions include the Lake Burton Fish Hatchery and Moccasin Creek State Park.
