FishSkinner Fishing Charters is an inshore and nearshore fishing charter and guide service based in Fort Myers, Florida, led by native Fort Myers guide Captain Wes Skinner. With more than 10 years offering guided fishing trips around Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island, the business is genuinely well-named — Captain Wes puts his own last name to work putting clients on fish.

Trips run 4, 6, or 8 hours, specializing in inshore and nearshore light tackle fishing on the flats and in the back bays for Snook, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, and Shark — Fort Myers offers some of the best backwater fishing in the state, so there’s always something biting. Snook Fishing challenges anglers with a picky, unpredictable, and stubborn fighter known for a huge surface boil and unmistakable “popping” strike. Tarpon Fishing Charters (seasonal, late spring through summer, 6 or 8 hours, up to 4 passengers) chase the “Silver King” for the thrill of incredible jumps against a bony mouth. Redfish Charters target a species that thrives in the fall spawning season, combining powerful runs with great table fare. Shark Fishing Charters (seasonal, late spring through summer during the Tarpon migration) target Black Tip, Sandbar, Lemon, and Bull sharks, ready biters that fight like crazy.

Beyond fishing, the business offers Shelling Excursions to the beautiful island of Cayo Costa, Back Country Eco Tours observing birds, manatees, and dolphins with a stop at historical Cabbage Key for a famous Cabbage Creeper sandwich, and dolphin watching/sightseeing. Every charter can be customized to fit specific needs, with additional boats available for larger groups.

The business holds a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, reflecting strong, sustained guest satisfaction over the years.

For anglers, families, and shell-seekers near Fort Myers/Sanibel Island, Florida looking for an experienced, more than decade-established inshore or nearshore fishing charter, FishSkinner Fishing Charters offers a well-loved operation with Captain Wes Skinner.
