Echo Park Swan Boats by Wheel Fun Rentals offers Swan Pedal Boat rentals at Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles, California, the same national chain researched earlier this session at the New Orleans City Park location. The Swan Boats at Echo Park Lake are considered one of Los Angeles’ hidden gems, offering a unique way to explore the lake’s signature lotus beds and fountain, and are consistently rated one of the best activities in LA — voted a top-10 thing to do in the city. Wheel Fun Rentals serves as the official boat concessionaire for all Los Angeles City Parks.

Swan Pedal Boats seat up to 5 guests, with reservations required (no walk-ups accepted) due to capacity limitations. All boaters receive a boating safety briefing and must wear Coast Guard-approved life vests. A distinctive Night Ride option lets guests glide across the lake on an LED-lit swan pedal boat, taking in the Los Angeles skyline from the water — available daily starting at sunset.

Located just northwest of Downtown LA in the trendy, artistic Echo Park neighborhood, near Dodger Stadium, the boathouse offers a genuinely historic landmark experience alongside the rentals. An interactive “Find & Seek” trivia game is also available to play while out on the water, teaching fun facts about the lake and park.

Hours vary seasonally (generally 9am-10 or 11pm), with the last rental going out one hour before closing, weather permitting. Limited parking is available nearby, with rideshare drop-off recommended given the lake’s popularity.

For families and visitors near Downtown Los Angeles/Echo Park, California looking for an iconic, highly-rated swan pedal boat rental — including a distinctive nighttime LED experience — Echo Park Swan Boats by Wheel Fun Rentals offers a genuinely beloved local attraction.
