Captain Alex Inshore Charters specializes in light tackle fishing in the waters surrounding Charleston, South Carolina, led by Captain Alex Pennekamp, who was born and raised in Charleston spending nearly every day on the water. A Clemson University graduate and fully licensed and insured USCG captain, Alex competes in professional redfish tournaments up and down the East Coast when he’s not guiding charters.

Trips run aboard a 25-foot Sea Vee with a 300 HP Yamaha for inshore work, or FLATLINE, a custom-built 34-foot Freeman Boatworks catamaran with twin Mercury Verado 400 HP outboards and top-of-the-line Simrad electronics, for deep sea trips. Inshore fishing (October-May) runs $450 for 3 hours, $600 for 4 hours, or $900 for 6 hours. Jetties Bull Redfish and Sharks (April-October) runs $600 for 4 hours, $750 for 5 hours, or $900 for 6 hours. Shark fishing charters (May 1-October 31) run $300 for 2 hours, $450 for 3 hours, or $600 for 4 hours, with a special afternoon-only 2-hour shark trip for up to 6 people at $450. Deep sea fishing aboard the 34′ Freeman runs $1,300 for 6 hours, $1,600 for 8 hours, or $2,000 for 10 hours. Dolphin tours, shark tooth hunting, sunset cruises, and sport crabbing all start at $300. Prices cover up to 2 people, with additional passengers up to 6 at $75 each; license, bait, tackle, ice, and gas are included (gas paid separately at the dock for deep sea trips). Customary gratuity runs 15-25%.
